Safer/Cleaner Neighbourhood Programme 2011/2012 Anti-social Behaviour

How can I help?

My role is to address Anti Social Behaviour and the associated neighbourhood and environmental issues throughout the Cookstown District. It is the intention of the Council to place emphasis on issues such as littering, graffiti/vandalism, alcohol and substance abuse and the promotion of good dog ownership.Awareness of these issues will be further developed through educational programmes delivered to primary school children and interested community groups.

I will act as the point of contact between the Council, all local and community groups and any related interagency partnerships. My task will include recording, reporting and initial investigation of all nuisance activity affecting the health and safety of Cookstown residents. I liaise with the Police Service of Northern Ireland and the Housing Executive. I will attend Residents Association meetings and offer practical advice and assistance.

The Health and Well Being of all the residents of Cookstown district is my primary concern. Should you have any concerns regarding anti social behaviour or are experiencing neighbourhood problems please do not hesitate to contact the Environmental Health Department and ask to speak to the Neighbourhood/Enforcement Officer, Marcus Blemmings.

I will deal with graffiti in public places, on council property, and under certain circumstances, graffiti on privately owned property that is visible from public areas. I shall arrange for its removal and possibly the application of anti graffiti paint.
