A potential new funding opportunity is now available from Invest NI for businesses to apply for Research and Development (R&D) support. The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Thursday 1 March 2012.

The Programme Board responsible for the delivery of the new Joint Services Training College Desertcreat, held an information evening for the local Cookstown community on Tuesday 25th Oct 2011 in the Glenavon Hotel.
Cookstown District Council welcomed the announcement that Desertcreat College has been given formal approval to proceed. The Chairman of Cookstown District Council, Councillor Sean Clarke, welcomed this historic announcement. In a Council Statement he said;
On 15th June 2011 the Chair of Cookstown District Council, Cllr Sean Clarke, launched the latest Community Project completed by students from the Princes Trust in partnership with the Good Relations Office at Cookstown District Council. The Princes Trust run a 10 week development programme for 16-25 year old unemployed persons.
The Rural Community Network's Rural Enabler Programme is aimed at assisting rural communities develop ways to deal with the things that still divide us in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of Ireland.
